Cebu - 28/02/2009 - Jana

After a fair bit of physical exertion and with tiredness from the journey out here, it was nearly 11am before we roused ourselves and Jana left to go home. I gave her an extra 200php for a trike fare as well – and arranged to meet her early at the bar that night again.

I walked a few hundred yards to El Geckos bar which I had read was a local expat watering hole met 3 guys shooting the breeze, one of whom was getting married to a local girl at 5pm that afternoon! I got some good local info, got some lunch and got a taxi up to Robinson’s Mall, where I bought a local SIM for my mobile – a KEY thing to do. I found this invaluable in texting the girls.

The mid-town hotel sits right above the Mall and is in a reasonable location, I never got round to checking out the rooms though. They are priced well above Eddies and don’t have as good a proximity to the night time action (IMHO).      

I used an internet café to deal with a few emails and the afternoon seemed to fly by – needed another nap at 5pm though, was still recovering from the trip and excitement from the 1st night.

So, with warning bells ringing in my ears I disregarded the advice about not sticking with the same honey that I fell for – off I went to meet Jana at Stripes and bought her our in fairly quick time. She was hungry so we grabbed a quick meal at a fast food joint, before heading back to the hotel for a repeat performance … even better than the first!

I decided to shave her – which she thought was a hoot!

As it happened the next evening (Sunday) was a problem for her, she couldn’t go to work in the bar because her father was home that day and he didn’t know what she was up to (though her mother did). That kinda forced a natural break in the matrimonial proceedings
